          24th  CONVOCATION AND 30th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

The following announcements concerning the 24th   Convocation and 30th anniversary celebration for  the award of Diplomas, Conferment of First Degrees, Higher Degrees, Honorary Degrees and presentation of prizes are made for the information of the members of the University community.

  •    Friday, 16th November, 2012 – Press Briefing at Senate Building by 10.00 a.m and  Jumat Service at FUTA  Central Mosque by 2.00 p.m.

 

  • Saturday, 17th November, 2012 – Students Variety Day at Theodore Idibiye Francis Auditoium by 6.00 p.m.

 

  • Sunday, 18th November, 2012 – Interdenominational Service at St. Albert Catholic Church, Obanla by 10.00 a.m.

 

  • Monday, 19th November, 2012 – Carnival/Road Show round the town and University campus by 10.00 a.m. and Novelty Match at the Sports Complex by 3.00 p.m.

 

  • Tuesday, 20th November, 2012 – Opening of Exhibition at the Exhibition Ground by 10.00 a.m. and Excellence and Productivity Award Night at the Lawn beside Senate Building by 6.00 p.m.

 

  • Wednesday, 21st November, 2012 – Career Talk at the CCE Hilltop Auditorium by 10.00 a.m. and Cultural Show/Command Performance at the T. I. Francis Auditorium by 7.00 p.m.

 

  • Thursday, 22nd November, 2012 – Alumni meeting at T. I. Francis Auditorium by 10.00 a.m. and Convocation meeting at T. I. Auditorium by 12.00 noon.

 

  • Friday, 23rd November, 2012 – Commissioning of Projects by 10.00 a.m. at the various project sites and later there will be Convocation Lecture titled ‘The Social Implications of Technological Innovations” to be delivered by Prof. Kole Omotoso  at the CCE Hilltop Auditorium by 3.00 p.m. and Alumni Hall of Fame/Dinner at T. I. Francis Auditorium by 5.00 p.m.

 

  • Saturday, 24th November, 2012 – Award of Final Diplomas, First Degrees, Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters’ Degrees, Presentation of Prizes, Conferment of Ph.Ds and Conferment of Honorary Degrees on two eminent citizens – General Theophilus Danjuma and Professor Mireku-Gyimah by 10.00 a.m at the Multipurpose Hall.

 

                Members of staff are enjoined to attend all these programmes.

                Please note that a documentary on FUTA @ 30 will be aired on Sunday, 25th November, 2012 on OSRC TV from 6.00 – 6.30 p.m.
